5 Random Friday Finds

Find No. 1

Our snowblower is getting quite a work out this winter. It is a good thing we bought a new one a couple of years ago.

Find No. 2

I have always had a big fascination with Sinclair gas stations. I think it is the simplicity of the lettering and the cute dinosaur on the sign. This is a miniature station set up in a model railroad display.

If you are interested in reading a little history on this company started in 1916 click here.

Find No. 3

With the right light and placement, even a chewed on and much loved dog toy can look pretty spectacular.

Find No. 4

Mallory got a new pair of boots for Christmas. She needed something else beside her Bogs to wear in the snow. I had to put waterproof spray on them for her, and in the process thought they would be fun to photograph for my 365 project, using my 50mm lens.

Find No. 5

I was in need of a new daily devotional/daily reading book, and thanks to Mallory looking for some C.S. Lewis books I found a good one.

Love the boots!!! Can't go wrong with anything in the shade of purples in my opinion!!! And the dog toy? So darned cute. The gas station along the railroad track is one super image...well photographed and the composition is awesome.

you're right about the dog toy. It does look great. I have never heard of a Sinclair gas station. We must not have them here in New England.

Wow! You are talented with that camera.
Thank you for the history of Sinclair . . and the train photo - our Botanical Garden had a Huge Set Up for Holidays - But, nothing as spiffy as a Sinclair Station.
The well loved dog toy . . . . Magical!

good morning sarah, oh...all the snow this winter. My hubby refuses to buy a snow blower, he considers snow shoveling a good work out! And there are times I get my workout too! Love your photo of the dog toy...a Christmas present perhaps? My two doodles would have that in pieces by now...there would be almost nothing left to photograph! :~) have a beautiful weekend!

Great boots and I bet the CS Lewis book is wonderful. Snow blowers are getting extra work outs these days. It must be the dinosaur on the Sinclair sign .. I remember them, too and always think of the dinosaur. Love the dog toy -- never know what is going to make *THE* shot -- fun! Happy Friday!

Lots of great shots. I LOVE those boots. I used to love to read Joyce Meyers daily devotional. But haven't read any lately. I really need to take that up again.

I love your little dog's dog toy. Very sweet. I've never been able to grasp C. S. Lewis, maybe I should revisit him. My mother always liked him.

You're right-that dog toy does look great! Love the purple boots too.

Our snow blower died just before the huge storm hit so we found ourselves relying on borrowing our neighbors. Something about pets napping in the sunlight simply makes them so photogenic.

I know your snowblower came in handy. And those boots, they are just lovely. The dog toy looks truly loved, but not as beat up as my dog's. And a daily devotional is such a good thing.

A neighbor down the street has a snowblower; I've been lucky that young people who go door-to-door shoveling for a reasonable fee has been my source of getting through the snow. We've had a foot or more already this year. I had never seen a devotional by C.S. Lewis. Now I am intrigued and will investigate to check the cost. Mallory's new boots are so colorful! I have Wellies given to me last Christmas. yea! I'd love to have a room just for a scene like the Sinclair Station!

We have two Sinclair stations nearby - with the plastic green dinosaur out front!

5 nice finds. I like those boots. I'm glad you have the snow blower, we never have had one. When we get a big snow we always have friendly neighbors willing to help us out with theirs!
