So this is who I am today, May 25, 2017.
Things I love: Quality time with my family, photography, writing, exploring new places, history, old buildings, and cemeteries. Autumn is my favorite season and there is nothing better than pulling on a warm fleece on a cool, crisp morning. Water soothes me, and you will often find me wandering the pier at our state park located on Lake Michigan.
My Backstory: In September of 2011, my only child left for college, a college that was eight hours away from home. She and I are very close, so I knew that this change would rock my world. I also decided to quit my retail job and stay home to pursue my love of photography. For the rest of 2011 I kind of drifted along, not being able to find firm ground to stand on. In January of 2012 I pulled myself together. I started a blog, Becoming A Finisher. Spring of 2012, I discovered on-line classes. I began to improve in my photography and through blogging I rediscovered a long lost love for writing.
My Intention: Since my first blog and realizing that photography and writing are things that I love to do, my intention has been to encourage and inspire other creative women. I am not afraid to be real and share from my heart.
I have been fortunate enough in 2016 to be published in Rural Magazine, an on-line publication, and to also have my blog featured in the May issue of Artful Blogging.
I am not exactly sure where this creative journey is going to take me, but I am open to following the path before me and enjoying all the stops along the way.

I'd say you did just fine! I love your photo and from what I've seen, our "about you" is pretty right on. I enjoy your blog and share your empty nest (even though my daughter lives in the same town). Keep up the great work. Thanks for sharing!
I think this is a perfect description and exactly how I see you at this moment in time... :-)
Beautifully written Sarah, and I adore your photo!!
What a fun road you are on! Love kim's classes, and they were a real game changer for me too. Best of luck on your journey!
