5 Random Friday Finds

Find No. 1

I found some weeds set against a darkening afternoon sky.

Find No. 2

I found I am having fun going with Glen to breweries and sample tasting beer flights. The Pumpkin one, second in on the left, was described as the beer version of a pumpkin chai. Well it wasn't exactly a chai latte but it wasn't too bad either.

Find No. 3

I found great morning "golden hour" light but it wasn't easy and it was very fleeting.

Find No. 4

In my back roads wanderings on my way home from vacation I found an old building with a lovely screen door and beautiful draping vines.

Find No. 5

Thanks to Amy at Four Corners Design I found two new books. Amy recommended Wishcraft and then I found another one that appealed to me as well by the same author. I started reading Wishcraft last night, so very good! The mechanics at my favorite service garage probably thought I was quite interesting reading this book with yellow highlighter in hand while waiting for my car to have its oil changed.

I LOVE the weeds photograph - the colors and tones are magnificent! So glad you found the book (though its making feel old that I see its the 30th Anniversary edition...did I really read that 30 years ago...!) I have a long email in my head that I need to send to you...if only there were more hours in the day...

I absolutely love that morning barn shot, those seeds, and I need those books. You already know I love the vegetation hanging on the house.

Love these! The light might have been fleeting but you captured it beautifully, lovely shot. And I love the processing on your first image. Haven't heard of those books before, will check them out. Happy weekend. :)

What a gorgeous golden morning light shot! It looks like a painting of Edward Hopper. LG Su

The weeds are beautiful, and so is the morning light. I love this kind of light, so warm and golden.

I am in love with your tall grass shots - like infatuated!

You captured the golden hour perfectly and the editing you used makes it picture perfect. I do love the vines hanging over the screen door, there is always something so appealing about them. I'm not to sure about the pumpkin beer...

Lovely captures, Sarah. Your weeds against the skyline look like an impressionist masterpiece. The golden light photo is precious too. From the angry clouds overhead you just know that it's a transitory moment in time. I'm a terrible highlighter/ scribbler in books. I sometimes worry about how much of myself I give away in my wild musings in the margins: a serious point if I later lend the book to a friend. All the best, Bonny

Love the dramatic feel in the first one of the weeds and you know I love the barn; gorgeous composition and light! I kind of miss the sound of an old screen door slapping shut; great find!

I really love the first image --great texture and what a wonderful overall effect!

You have me intrigued with Wishcraft --what a unique word. I'll have to check this out. Thanks!

The barn shot is extraordinary, as is the old building with the screen door...love the draping...
Your books find intrigue me as I am on a quest to figure out just how to do it all and not be overwhelmed....I think I'm going to have to look that one up...and like you, I always have a marker or a pencil with me wherever I go..
Enjoy your beer...

I love the weeds - such beautiful tones. I'm not really a beer drinker - just wine - but your photo makes it look quite tempting! There was an indie beer convention at Victoria Baths this weekend - I reckon you would've like it!
