5 Random Friday Finds

Find No. 1

I found this quote on Pinterest. It fits me and my Random Friday perfectly.

Find No. 2

This week's new recipe find, Asparagus, Egg and Bacon Salad with Dijon Vinaigrette. For my friend Viv, you can find the recipe here. Be sure to check out this helpful article on asparagus.

Find No. 3

Proud momma moment, my beautiful girl found out this week that she got one of the internships she applied for at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, which is part of the National Parks System. So very proud of her and also jealous that she gets to spend all summer there. I immediately found a great cottage to rent for two weeks up there. It is my Heaven on earth.

Find No. 4

These are the books you will find on my nightstand this week. I am almost done with The Slight Edge. I would highly recommend it.

Find No. 5

I am not a beer drinker, but I attended a work social function with my husband for his work. It was at a brewery. The sweet waitress gave me a couple of samples making them into Shandies. I found one that was drinkable, but I still prefer my Riesling any day.

I agree with Sarah, the quote is wonderful. It is so reassuring, and I needed that today. The recipe looks delicious. I went to the link and printed this to make for Easter's meal. So happy for your daughter. We have a long history of family vacations at Virginia State Parks. We love the adventure of these vacations, often finding small towns and wonderful food, people, and local crafts/treasures. Great shot of the park ranger hat! Thanks for the book suggestions, too!

Perfect quote for that perfect photo. So excited about the park adventure this summer, can't wait. Right now I'm thinking we won't be making it up that far. We may ge to go to Whichita KS. I might have try your recipe, looks like my kinda food since the asparagus is in full force. The last time I tried a new beer at the brewery it tasted like tree bark. But I do like a good cold beer.

Congratulations to Mallory! I'm excited for you, too, to be able to spend a couple of weeks there this summer. Oh, and thanks for the link - I'll be having that salad this weekend, too. Happy Easter!

Love the random quote and your beautiful image. I love asparagus and I'm going to try the salad. Thanks for the recipe. How exciting for your daughter to get the internship! Have fun this summer with her. I'm more of a beer drinker than wine -- but don't do either one much. With summer coming, I'll have some beer in the frig ... it's good with lemonade! Happy Spring!

That salad looks absolutely yummy and congrats to your daughter...that is wonderful!! What an adventure that will be. And I am not a beer drinker either....I really tried in college since that was the drink of choice, but failed.
