Kat's instructions for this assignment were to think about new techniques I would like to learn. Think about every aspect of the photography process from capture to processing.
I am quite happy where I am at with the capture part. I already made the Still Life and Lighting Breakthroughs this year.
Three things I would like to learn this year are:
- iPhoneography
- Photoshop CS6
- Printing my Photos
But it is time to step out of my comfort zone and learn about actions, brushes, clipping layers and even whitening eyes and teeth. So I am doing something about it. At the beginning of April I will be starting a Photoshop CS6 class with Kim Klassen. Her teaching style works really well for me to learn technical stuff. Step by step video instruction with year long access, so I can go back and watch something over and over again until I get it.
I will not be able to post my end results until after this class is done, but you never know where we will meet up again, and when we do I hope to be rocking Photoshop CS6.

That sounds great, Sarah. I took Kim's Round Trip and learned a lot from that. I'm sure you'll love the CS6 class.
I'm so proud of you ... yes, Photoshop is grand. I have not upgraded, but PS5 is working well for me. I wonder why you can't post your results ... Kim has always encouraged posting on our blogs, just not posting all her step-by-step techniques. Is she managing this class differently? Anyway, have fun growing photographically. ;->
Technical stuff! Now, that would take me a long time to learn! Good for you for taking a class to help. I know how you love your classes! Me,too!:) I don't have Photoshop, I probably should take the leap some day, but it sounds really complicated to me! Good luck with the learning and I'm looking forward to seeing some results!
Your photos are going to be amazing! Can't wait to see them. Great quote in your picture above!!
Yay! I'm glad you are taking this next step. Signing up for the class is a perfect commitment to learn something new!
Online classes are such a great way to learn! I hope you enjoy learning about your software and that it brings you the results you want.
Wonderful goals. I have learned so much from online classes. I really like your photo. Jelly beans? Spring will come, I am not sure if the snow will stay away.
You will love Kim's class. I continue to learn so much from her, and she makes Photoshop and Lightroom approachable for me. I also want to explore iPhoneography.
xoxo
That is going to be such a great class for you. Kim is a great teacher. Having PS to enhance not only your processing, but your artistic flare as well. I have CS5, not 6. Oh if there were only money, and well, there isnt'.
Love the quote you included. I am trapped in a job and career I absolutely hate, but can't think of what to step to that would bring in enough cha-ching to pay the mortgage and buy the dog food. I'll keep thinking.
Happy day my friend.
