Find No. 1
My friend Jill happened to point out these photos of flip flops to me last week. They were on the walls by the elevator on the floor below ours. They got under my skin. I was taking these photos of the pictures on the last day. An older than me couple happened to see me taking them. They got on the elevator and I walked past them. Before the doors shut I heard her say to her husband "Did you see her, she was taking pictures of pictures". Yep. I needed to bring the inspiration home with me.
Find No. 2
This is Jill and my collaboration on the beach at Grand Cayman. Those are not our beer bottles, they were already there, but those are Jill's hat and flip flops. Jill and I will be working on this project this summer, getting ready for our gallery show this fall. LOL! Start gathering your flip flops Jill!
Find No. 3
The Martini Bar was a fabulous place, and where we spent more than one cocktail hour. Best to stop after one Martini though, otherwise I sit through dinner with a somewhat glazed look on my face.
Find No. 4
This was the frenzy before the watch sale began on the last day at sea. The crowd tripled in size by the time it actually started.
Find No. 5
The library on the ship. A cozy, elegant place to enjoy a book.
We had a great time on the trip and could have easily cruised for one more week.

I'm not sure I'd spend time reading in the library...when on a cruise ship?!!! I imagine there is much, way much more, to do.
A watch sale? Never heard of such a thing. LOL
The pictures of the pictures are fun and that lady made me laugh! At first I was thinking they were your framed photos - I like your and Jill's creation better - although you had me a little worried with all those bottles :-) I'm happy you had a great time!
Gallery Show . . . I found excitement right then and there . . .
Gallery show? Sounds wonderful. I am sure we will hear more...
We love cruising-we are narrowing down the size of the ship we enjoy sailing on. Love how you shot the library. It's beautiful. I drag anyone with me to the game shows. They are a hoot-I really want to do a Viking cruise in Europe. I need to win the lottery 1st. Love that shot of the corona bottles. Thanks for lettin us peek in on your vacation!!
Sarah, yes, I've taken photos of hung wall photos too - a documented memory for inspiration. Love your beach flip flop photo, The cruise sounds very relaxing and hope you enjoyed being away from the snow for a while.
good morning Sarah ... sounds like you had a fabulous time ... Love your beach photo with the empties, perfectly styled with that hat and flip flops! Now it is springtime ... bring on the warm weather here!
a cruise is my favorite way of travel! ha, i'm laughing at the lady commenting about you taking pictures of pictures :D and i love that photo of all the beer bottles! ha, i've experienced the "1 too many martinis before dinner" glazy look! not fun! have a great weekend!
Your collaboration photo is excellent (that many bottles - I would expect it to be a bit blurry - lol!). Sounds like you had a great time.
Love your edited picture of Find #2! The little cozy nook I would love. Glad you enjoyed your vacation!!
Welcome back, glad you enjoyed your time away. I absolutely love find #2. The photo, not the beer, I am not a beer drinker.
That second image could be an ad for Corona. Looks like somebody had a good time! I love the look of that wingback chair in the library, but wonder if it would really be comfortable. I'd be there trying it out while everyone else was at the mob scene at the watch sale. :-)
I love flip flops! Your collaboration photo is fantastic!
How fun.. I LOVE to cruse. Seeing your photos makes me want to go again.. Great snaps you have here.
Hugs~
Oh I can see you are having a blast:) Great shots. B
I have to laugh out loud: I take pictures of pictures, too. I 'get it' even if those other people didn't. :-D I'm so delighted you had a great time and thanks for sharing some of the finds.
Glad you had a great time. I love the image of the 'empties' and flip flops. I am so glad I am not the only one who takes pictures of pictures. :)
Heh, whenever the inspiration appears go for it. Looks like you had a wonderful trip surrounded by beauty!!
the bottles and hat picture is to die for! So fabulous! I take pictures of pictures too.
Oh my that is funny about what the lady said about your taking pictures of pictures. People just don't understand do they? - Interesting pictures too of those flip-flops. I still want to call them Thongs as we did in my day.
Great shot of the Bottles/Hat & Flip-flops on the Beach. Are you sure they weren't your bottles (LOL)
That bar looked pretty cool but I really liked the look of the Library.
Great finds - Love the empties. My favorite saying about Martini is: Martinis are like breasts - one is not enough, three is too many. Looks like a great trip.
I've been waiting to see a little of your cruise! Love the "taking a picture of a picture story!" We do get odd looks, don't we! Great beach composition! I'm glad you didn't drink all those, you would have missed a great deal of your vacation with blurry eyes!
Sounds like a great time, taking home more than memories...ideas too!!!...:)JP
Oh hello cruise ship goodness...what a fabulous place to relax and enjoy. And I had to chuckle at the comment the lady made...non-photographers (aka - non-lookers of life) just don't get it. But I will bet if we put a camera in their hands and gave them a few prompts we could change the world! ;) (also reminded me of the person who was rude to me when I was taking a picture of a pigeon) I was hoping for good weather to go down to the beach this weekend, oh how I miss it!
Sounds like you had an awesome vacation. You know, I've never been on a cruise!
Love the beer bottles/flip flops/hat shot! Outstanding.
Have a great weekend.
diane @ thoughts and shots
You keep taking pictures of pictures - and then sharing them with the rest of us :)
You make cruising sound very enjoyable.
Congratulations on some sensational photos,Sarah. No. 2 with the beer bottles is a fabulous shot: it shouts out the exuberance of a party on the beach where the flip flops were kicked off, the hat abandoned and the drinks flowed freely and then the sudden quiet when everyone went home. Really lovely. Have a great weekend. Bonny @ just saying ...
Looks so enjoyable and the library is cool. It's funny how non-photographers see us. I was down on the ground the other day when a bus passed by - I sure they thought I was a nut! Great shots and thank you for stopping by my blog. Have a great weekend.
Beautiful photos, Sarah! I sure needs a vacation or a change of scenery at of now..
Sounds like great fun and I like your collaboration with Jill in #2. The lady in the elevator obviously doesn't do photography ... she doesn't even know what she is missing. I am not a Cruise type of girl ... I would spend most of the week leaning over a railing or into a toilet. Sea Sick is no fun, I know, I ve been there. Glad you had a great trip ...

Love the library shot Sarah -- very posh, yet relaxing at the same time. :)
The last cruise we were on, we had a ritual of going to the Martini Bar every night before dinner. It was fun to watch the bartender. Love your pics of your cruise. Makes me remember some good times.
Love the shot of the martini bar and martinis in general :-)
I've taken pics of pictures. I get it. :)
Love the shot of the bottles - very nicely composed!
Lovely shots...love the picture of the pictures...I take photos for inspiration all the time!
The collaboration shot is awesome. Love the idea of a martini bar! Glad you so much fun.
mmm ... a cruise is lookin' mighty appealing right about now!
what a treat!
Which watch did you buy? The couple in the elevator made me laugh.
The bottles on the beach makes a great picture. I would hang it on the wall. People who are not obsessed with photography probably would never understand taking a picture of a picture. Those of us who live with a camera within easy reach would. Nice random post.
Great share, Sarah! Never been on a cruise, but looks like you made the very best of it! Funny that someone outed you for taking a pic of a pic! And why not??? Aloha
I think it's always a good idea to capture anything that inspires, even if you're taking pictures of pictures.
hope you have a great day.
