Find No. 1
It seems that every time I am going to go to downtown Chicago it is raining. This time it was raining and cold, 39 degrees cold.
Find No. 2
I take a photo of the section where I am parked in these massive parking garages. Always helpful.
Find No. 3
I found some things never change. Mallory has always been the reader of the map or trail guide. Probably why she will make a great interpretative intern for the National Parks this summer.
Find No. 4
A few great Anthropologie finds. A cute like cake pedestal, the mug was in the clearance section, and I was eyeing the measuring spoons when we were at our local store. I had to have them.
Find No. 5
I found these towels and tray at Ikea.
A photography assistant is wonderful until he tries to steal the towels you are using in your still life set up and then leaves slobber marks on them.
Joining Kim for Friday Finds.
That mug looks very pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteAh love your map reader Mark is our cartographer in the family.....That little measuring spoon is so sweet...
ReplyDeleteI love that you included the thieving that was going on in the photos. So real life. I wish I could read a map - I need a Mallory too.
ReplyDeleteI am laughing so hard envisioning the thief and the artist "working" together. Your photos are turning out so beautifully.
ReplyDeleteLol!! Your assistant is lovely!! Love that cake stand. Mallory is adorable and what a good deal she likes to be the map reader!! Beautiful finds Sarah.
ReplyDeletelol slobber. Well he stole the show...: )
ReplyDeleteTaking a photo of your parking place is a great idea. Isn't great how everyone in a family has their specific job? I am the map and guide reader of my family, oh... and the picture taker. I think I need to get a photo assistant :)
ReplyDeletelol! love your assistant! But your finds and your photography are truly wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI like it all . . . slobbering too!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! Taking a pic of where you left your car...brilliant! I'll have to remember that one. I love Mallory's curls...and your photog assistant's sweet nose. :-)
ReplyDeleteAh - your photography assistant is adorable - I'm sure he was just suggesting a different set up. I would love to have Mallory along, as I tend to wander aimlessly. She'll make a wonderful intern!
ReplyDeleteYou had me at measuring spoons! They are adorable! I can see why you couldn't resist them and now I'm thinking about going and getting some of my own. I have a furry photography assistant too, only mine's a cat -- you know, like as in "curiosity killed the cat". Whatever I'm doing, he has to be right in the middle. Makes for some interesting shots!
ReplyDeleteOh, I miss Chi Town - the greatest city ever - especially in the summer.
ReplyDeleteNever been to Chicago other the O'Hare Airport (Does that count). Sorry it always seems to rain on you.
ReplyDeleteSmart idea to photograph your park spot. Any more I should do that because I can loose my car in the grocery store parking lot!
Loved the Cake Platter, so pretty.
Your photo assistant is cute but I can see where slobber marks might not work for a photo session.
all such great finds..but the photography assistant is the best...
ReplyDeleteI love the pretty things you found to use as props. I know you enjoyed the time with Mallory, she's so pretty! Your assistant...well he's just too cute!
ReplyDeleteOh my such great finds. Great idea to photograph your parking area. I'll need to remember that one. Love that teaspoon!
ReplyDeleteLove your raindrops photo, Sarah. It just about sums the weather up over here at the moment too. Looks like you had a great time! Bonny
ReplyDeleteI look forward to your Friday Finds because they are always so varied. Of today's photos, as always I love them all (each for their own reasons), but my favorite is the shot in the parking deck. I need to do this, but that's not why I love the picture. I am drawn to the shapes and lines and shadows and light in the image and the element of text, too. Such a interesting photo in so many ways. I simply must visit an Anthropologie store this summer - love the cake stand and mug. So great to see your daughter in a photo - and she sounds like my son, the one who gets us anywhere with a map. Your photo assistant is such a treasure!
ReplyDeleteI have to say I have never thought to photograph where I park my car in a garage I will from now on, I am always losing my car I love the little teaspoons large print so I can see what the measurements are is always helpful. Good finds.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds, Sarah !
ReplyDeleteLove that mug and the measuring spoon is so cute !

Nice week,
Sylvia

ReplyDeleteHi, looks like I have not been getting your updated posts. Not sure why... anyway nice to see you!
ReplyDeleteI love your finds! I made a trip there yesterday and now you make me want to go back! Lol. Beautiful pictures and love the dog scene... I have that very same issue!
ReplyDeleteI love how you just snap away and tell a story with it all. I think the parking space photo is quite artistic. A series perhaps? And dear Scout, nosing in. :)
ReplyDeletexoxo
